Hello Bridezillas...
Hope its been an amazing week for you. For me it was hectic. Planning a wedding is not as easy as I used to think and the anger and frustration when things just go out of hand, phew...! I must say I have learned a few things from my cousin's and friend's experiences and I am glad that I get to share that with you all...
I have narrowed down the planning process in a detailed checklist which makes it easier for us to remember even the smallest things that need to be taken care off. So lets get on with it...
1. Get Psyched : We girls are fed fairy tales since the day we were born about the grand Princecy wedding with the prince charming (wooh wooh... Don't tell me you believe in all that...) These are fictional stories to be heard and forgotten but we, the innocent ones, even after knowing the truth, always dream about our Prince charming and the grand wedding...
*News Flash* : Wake up. The first thing you need to do before you start planning the wedding is to prepare yourself mentally. Get into a right frame of mind of compromise and flexibility. Things might not go your way at all. Not only will you need to be flexible with your dream idea of the wedding but also willing to make compromises financially. Don't try to be controlling or it will be very frustrating experience for you.
2.Budget : You need to seriously consider if entering into a marriage with hefty set of bills is a good start to just have an over the top wedding? That's why our elders say, "Koi no mahal joine potani jhupadi na todaye." Its very important to set a budget to know how much you are willing to spend without getting into credits. For Ex: If you have a 80 lacks budget then bifurcate it down into the figures you want to spent on Clothes & Accessories, Venue, Decoration, Gifts, etcetra etcetra...
4.Research : The Final Step in the first month is after listing down the things, research where from to book each single point in the category. You may ask your friends who have already planned their wedding, your relatives, a few planners if you choose to go with them, and then decide what fits. Its hard to just like something and book it coz you always have a Red Alert of fitting-things-into-the-budget. At every step, never deflect from the budget and the list. In short,
Once you are through the above list, you are almost good to go...
That's all for today. Me signing off, but will come soon with our favourite section of shopping... Till then remember,
Love you gals... Mwahhhhhhhhh

"Take everything with a grain of salt and a sense of humour."
(P.S. : Well, be happy and calm, you at least get one big thing right in this whole hoard of compromises - Your Prince Charming. What more can a bride ask for!!! )
"Just making a budget is not enough. Make sure you keep a little slack for all the items and stick to it."
3.Timeline : Time is of essence in wedding affairs primarily when we want everything to be right on time in the right way. The timeline can change drastically depending on the city you have in and the bridal market; plus the wedding season. Most of the steps need to be completed in the first month like
- Booking the venue
- Booking the boarding and lodging
- Tent & Decoration
- Caterers
- Pandit
- Makeup & Mehendi Artist
- Photography team
- Florist
- Shopping List
"The rest is fine tuning and hoping the wheels don't come off the wagon!"

"Don't let your heart fall off your sleeve."
5.Guest List : Lastly, Sit together with your partner to make 'The Guest List'. This is the most prior and hard part coz you are supposed to make sure no near and dear ones are missed and also that the list doesn't go beyond the number you calculated to manage.
Once you are through the above list, you are almost good to go...

"Small, Sweet and intimate wedding is better than big, lavish and impersonal."
Love you gals... Mwahhhhhhhhh
